School Demos in Las Vegas
Las Vegas isn't on my favourite-things-to-do list but I was stoked when Gary L called me for a few days of school demos with 2 other street/ramp riders Mark Rubio and Matt Closson. The One Love fellows had planned a jam up in norcal the Saturday after my demos so Sir Lalo stepped up and we embarked for an adventure that didn't quite turn out like we planned haha. School demos were super awesome thanks to Gary, Matt, and Mark but the Zumbi Jam was cancelled due to rain and Lalos car peaced about half way home! eeek what a long day that was Lalo handled like a champ thanks to his lady for picking us up!
And super special thanks to Jessica Blair for being super rad and giving me a little faith in people:) Check the photos:

Flatland! 40 Years of BMX! all on BMX day!
I recently had the pleasure of meeting one of BMX legends Mr. Scot Breithaupt, and he educated me on the upcoming and highly anticipated 40 YEARS OF BMX event on November 14th in Bellflower, California. There are tons of things going on all around this event and is sure to be one of the highlights for the BMX community this year. The buzz around this event is energizing but what does every bike event need? FLATLAND!!! I spoke to Lalo J on the subject last week and he's already on it. Lalo has stepped up and is organizing a FLATLAND contest at the 40 YEARS OF BMX event for the 14th. Props to you Lalo! FLATLAND needs more Lalos!
I also just read on Scot's facebook that Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster is proclaiming November 14th as BMX day! This is being presented to Scot on November 5th at http://firstfridayslongbeach.com along with lots of other exciting stuff over at the BMX History display. There is even mention of a showing/display of the movie RAD along with several old school OG pros!
Following that First Friday event on the 5th will be another prequel event on the 13th. (also a Friday) November is a busy time for BMX in Southern California! For more information and to stay connected to whats going on checkup on http://40yearsofbmx.com
See you guys there!

Its free to attend, not sure of the details on the comp but Jesse's running it so itll happen somehow. Come out and support BMX in southern California and see both flatland, ramp, and street guys shredding. I will definitely be there and you should be there too!
Date: 23 October 2010
Location: Houghton Skatepark 6301 Mrytle Ave. Long Beach, CA 90805

Pigeon John Music Video
It was a normal Saturday as I headed to the Rose Garden for practise time. Lalo Jimenez and Thanh rolled up and made it proper. About half way through the session Lalo tells me about this music video nearby that was in need of flatland tricks. So Lalo, Thanh, Dakine, and myself strolled up just past Washington Ave and located a compound covered in super sick tag art where this music video was to be shot. We were early so we hit up a legit rolling taco stand for dinner and then began a 4 hour session that finished up at 11pm! They had a few street guys doing 3s, whips, bars, halfcab tricks, etc and model girls just chillen in the background haha. (because thats how it really is at the flatland and street spots haha) The street guys were sick! and for part of the video we pedalled up with a group of other bike riders, one of which was BMX legend Scott Breithaupt! (founder and owner of SE Racing) So all in all it was a super fun night with lots of riding!
A few photos from myself and Lalo:
Talk to me about bombasstacos!
Boom!
With Lalo, about to shredd!

New Seat
So I hate the "flatland" seat that is available, and I decided to try the Mikey Aitken model from Odyssey. Of course I had to trim some plastic to make room for my fingers and the nose was wayyy tooo long haha but overall the seat works pretty good for flatland! (and its way lighter than the flatland pivotal one)
Check the photos:
Trimmed a little of the plastic in the back
and cut the nose (sorry wolf! haha)
Slim and much thinner!
the wolf and I didnt get along so I used the flatland tape to make it black! (paint failed haha)

Las Vegas - Kofax Demo
I recently visited Las Vegas to join Nick and Conno for a live BMX demo inside one of the Venetian Casino ballrooms. Kofax is a software company based out of Southern California and they had 500 sales people from around the globe on hand for their annual sales meeting. We performed a 3 minute demo to open their meeting and a quick 1 minute demo to conclude. It was a lot of fun, especially all of the rehearsals :)
Spinning on a rubber mat haha or trying to

New Video - Bardilino Street / Easy Practice
So I spent 3 weeks in Las Vegas recently visiting one of my best friends (and world class bmx dirt jumper) Cameron White. Las Vegas isnt really all flatland friendly (and def not Bo friendly!) so I settled on the spot right outside Cam's front door. Notice the wall in the background to get an idea of how slanted this street is, not to mention the crown. Fuck crowns (except the ones you colour with:)
Thanks to Cam and Michelle for having Dakine and myself over! I love those guys like family!

4th of July
Lalo (pictured above haha) is throwing a 4th of July Flatland Jam / BBQ. It sounds like a super fun time, Dakine and I are planning on attending for sure!
1676 N Oxford Ave Claremont CA
It's set to start 11:00 am on the 4th of July.
The Park is adjascent to a High school and there's plenty of parking in and around the school.
There are a dozen full size tennis courts and a big lush park.
Were going to be having a BBQ and a relaxed riding session plus an after party.

Bunnyhop whip troubles :(
Ive been working on this trick off and on for about a year, its the bunnyhop tailwhip. Ive had countless dreams of successfully doing this this trick but in real life Im still 1 foot away. Yesterday was a perfect example of how close you can be without winning. Its like Im the Boston Celtics for a moment haha! Boom!

New Bike Parts! Flatware Twombolt 160 and 22 sprocket
I decided to switch from the Quamen crank to the Flatware Twombolt crank. I wanted a little bigger sprocket for a more powerful crank so I pedal less and can go faster! Plus the bigger sprocket looks so much more BMX! 22/9 doggie.
Foto:
Just a quick video clip from today testing the crank, sprocket and Ocean Blue Flatware Tshirt haha I match my bike! Dakine posted up having my back as always:

Jo Mo Pro
I attended the JoMoPro contest in Missouri recently and had an amazingly fun time! Paul killed it all weekend and it was cool to meet a few people in person for the first time. I placed 13th but I rode terrible so I was stoked with that, for now:) I want to ride very hard and start competing at as many contests as possible. I feel like contests will push me to ride harder and at this stage in my life thats what I want to do more than anything:) I intended to write a lengthy report but have since decided to just stay a few things. You cant blame the judges for judging with their own judgement haha but clearly they all were not qualified to be judging a pro flatland contest. That was the only con of Jomopro, all of the judges were not qualified. Also Im totally for open judging, its what we all do in our heads when we watch a contest ... is it not?
