Press Release:

Flatland Voodoo Jam Returns To New Orleans For 2012

After a two-year hiatus, the most exciting flatland contest on North American soil is returning to New Orleans’ Generations Hall on June 9, 2012.

The hosts and organizers of Voodoo Jam are once again Terry Adams and Scott O’Brien—two of the most influential flatland icons in the U.S.

Since its inception in 2004, the nightclub atmosphere and contagious energy of Voodoo Jam has attracted amateur and professional riders from around the world, and this year the event will offer Veteran, Expert, and Pro classes along with cash and prizes for the winners.

There will be a pre-jam open to the public free of charge on Friday before the event at Fleur De Lis Park in New Orleans, and an unofficial after party in the French Quarter on the world famous Bourbon Street. Voodoo Jam weekend is the perfect opportunity to experience the Crescent City’s eclectic culture while celebrating flatland and the lifestyle surrounding it.

Registration is open online, and the classes are already stacked with more than 50 riders from four different countries that promise to put on an incredible show. Some of the confirmed pro riders include: Terry Adams
Matthias Dandois
Matt Wilhelm
Alex Jumelin
Dominik Nekolny
Waldemar Fatkin
Plus More…

Spectators are invited watch the amateur classes and pro qualifying for free. Tickets for the 7:00pm pro finals will be on sale for $5 at the door.

Changing my bike / discovering the back wheel :)

So after working on front wheel tricks for the past few months in an attempt to balance the front and back wheel I was sitting watching Matthias at Soulstyce do every front wheel trick I could think of pretty much in the same combo haha! I thought to myself why do I want to learn what others have so mastered so at that moment I decided to focus only on back wheel and street style tricks. There are enough front wheel guys killing it today plus I really admire the style of Ucchie, Yuki, and the recent edit fromTaiko in Tokyo ... wow!

So Im stoked to put a BMX style seat and post on my bike, lowered the front tire pressure and filed down the knurling on the front pegs. Also the lower front tire pressure makes bunny hop tricks so nice!
